Life mod keybinds are hard-coded unfortunately. It's just the way the mod works, the keys or key combinations are pre-defined and compiled as part of the mission file. 

If you're just putting it on a vehicle aready spawned, in the INIT of the vehicle in editor.

You need to tell arma to use the textures. Also if it's an object that has random textures you need to disable the randomization  https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setObjectTexture
