@RossssAre you using the Windows 7 > Windows 10 free upgrade? Or do you have a full license for it? If you have a full licence, then I'd just un-install your old HDD and install on the SSD (as it'll be the only available drive). Afterwards you can connect your old HDD and wipe it in disk...

I work for an IT outsourcing company called Computacenter. Currently I'm working with them on a UK government site, hence the clearance.

Normally they try to look at them within 48 hours, but if you've been waiting a week (without bumping your unban appeal) I think it may have just slipped under the radar.

Apparently it works at point blank range, but there are two ways the admin team are hopefully dealing with this issue. 1. More active admins on servers to pro-actively ban people for VDM'ing. 2. Changing the VDM script to let you know who ran you over (like when you get robbed).
