If you hate the windows start menu etc download something called classic shell, it changes start menu to old windows 7 styles!

I5 7700k is a pretty solid processor , along with an asus strix - h (the one I have I think) is an awsome combination , can push it all the way up to about 5 ghz , if you know your voltages etc. But the default OC that asus provides are pretty solid ! 

Little bit less in terms of money, I've heard nothing but good things from the 1050TI nice small form factor powerful card, or the step up to the 1060 (providing you've got the wattage etc) is a good way to start/go

Both with work together (along with ddr4 ram) but seeing as you're going out with an i7-7700k I suggest getting a higher tier motherboard , better overclcoking utilities more USB 3.0 hubs.  If you're not going to be editing videos and rendering etc on the machine you can get an i5 7700k, mines...
