Why should we unban you: Hi, I had hoped not to land back here after Jessie gave me what could be seen as a golden opportunity to prove that I am here to roleplay, nevertheless here I am. I will be explaining the situation leading up to what sanctioned my ban followed with why I believe it should be revoked.

On the 21'th of January we had as members of Southside been our robbing people later in the evening, a few of the people we had robbed was member of Grove Street whom we had let live after being brought back up to their feet at the dodgy doctor. Later on in the evening we had a situation happen at pillbox where me and one more member were going to drop off one of our members who had been injured in a previous situation. Seeing as we were wearing same clothing throughout the night we then at that point had a bigger number of grove cars pull up next to us as we were dropping off our member, I'd presume this was due to some of them recognizing the clothes we were wearing at the time. Nevertheless the situation ended up with a shootout where multiple members from both Grove and Southside were injured, once the shooting had stopped we attempted to tend to our injured members and get them to a safe location, it was at this moment a police officer who had responded to the situation took one of our members inside where he later on was put into care and had his firearms taken off him. Once this member had come back up on his feet we were informed of the situation regarding his lost items and decided to try and get a hold of the police officer to try and get said items back. It is here the video providived by the reportee starts, we were sat outside pillbox where a member of Southside managed to spot the officer we were looking for in the lower garage of pillbox, where they were seen passing items to eachother, which we presumed was the guns taken from our member. We set up a plan of trying to drill through the side door to go in and apprehend the two officers inside to then bring them to a safe location where we could take back the goods taken. It was at this moment both officers got into their cars and started driving out, once the first car got outside the garage it was met with demands to stop and get out of their vehicle at gunpoint, a demand which were not listened to as the officer instead tried to drive away, leading to him getting shot. This lead to a shootout starting with police at Pillbox, which resulted in me shooting the other officer whom had reversed back into the garage to what we believed was to call backup.

Now from speaking to Willis (the reportee) I understand that he felt the RP given to him was lacking, however in this situation as many many others, there was an ongoing situation (in this case a shootout) which I presume he was not fully aware of as of yet. I am sure logs can show that there had been an officer shot dead before Willis was gunned down, therefore my claims of an "ongoing situation". It is due to this I feel the ban is a tad unjust, granted there could've been more done prior to shooting, but at the end of the day an officer had already been gunned down at the situation, and as in 9/10 other situations where this happens involving a police officer, it turns into a bigger shootout. You don't see someone taking the means of prolonging firing a shot in what is already a shootout to instead converse with one that is part of the same faction, whether they are police or part of a different gang.

There has been many situations like this one before where the call has been made that there was already an ongoing situation, therefore no punishment in those instances. Granted every situation is different and I have full respect for that, however the one thing they all have in common is that there is an active shootout when the other party is shot, with or without words said.

I have linked a couple of reports that have been declined where something similar has occurred, a person being shot without what they believe a situation going on, where in all instances there has been one ongoing or one started "elsewhere" which the reportee was not aware of in RP.


Now as I mentioned in the report against myself I do believe we could've done more to provide Willis with a more enjoyable situation prior to getting shot, however as the shooting had already started by another member of Southside all I did was follow what normally would happen during any shootout with a faction/gang, being those part of same group at scene getting shot. As also mentioned in the report we did attempt to provide some deeper medical RP as well as prolong the RP by handing said officer off to The Lost in an attempt to "make just" for what may have been a not too enjoyable situation had he only been left in the spot. Nevertheless I do believe I had a reason to shoot as it had turned into an active shootout (which can be backed by logs), hence why I believe the ban sanctioned against me is unjustified.

I appreciate you feel that the ban may be unjust. But there's what, 12 seconds between the doors opening, and southside opening fire. Now I know situations can be quite explosive, but that is a very fast paced escalation to violence. Hence the ban being pushed for alack of quality roleplay. Not a lack of roleplay entirely.

So I think the first hurdle to leap, is how do you plan on avoiding this arising again, were you to be unbanned?

Hello C_Date, I hope all is well and I appreciate you taking the time to read through my appeal.

You are not wrong in mentioning the short timespan between the RP begining and it escalating into a shootout, as mentioned in both my appeal and on the report this is something we more or less understood ourself as the situation had escalated, granted at that moment it was too late to fix any wrong doings. I think that moving forward it's important to have in mind that whether it is me or someone else firing the first shot it doesn't have to lead to a full on shootout, I'd say with how situations end up a majority of times with both gangs and police it's gotten too common that one shot fired equals a gunfight, which doesn't have to be the case. Let's just say that if a situation similar to this one were to occur again I think it's important to think a bit outside the box and see opportunities of how you can proceed the RP rather than "following the moment" and continuing a gunfight, as in this case it probably didn't carry the most quality roleplay behind it.

I know for a fact that I am more than capable of providing good roleplay and I am certain that people that have interacted with me throughout my time on the server would gladly say the same, it's sad that this one incident slipped the way it did and all I can really say is that whether it is me or someone else deciding to fire the first shot in any situation moving forward I will make sure to at the best of my ability try and further provide quality roleplay before the situation end up in a full blown shootout like this one did. Granted I cannot speak for what other people I either find myself grouped with or up against will do the same, but the least I can do is ensure that myself don't let the roleplay slip from my side of things, then whether that changes the course of action or not I can only speculate in, but then atleast I have provided the quality roleplay I know I am capable of.

So moving on to the next question.

What third party software do you use alongside fivem?

As mentioned in the report already I use hudsight as a form of a 3’rd party crosshair (same as crosshair x), other than that I use reahade for some colour correction as the base game can get quite ”bland”
